Abstract

Background. The authors investigated innovative carbon nanocomposites for medicine, undergoing preliminary pre-clinical testing, in order to additionaly confirm biocompatibility and absence of delayed toxic effects.
Materials and methods. The researchers subcutaneously implanted innovative carbon nanocomposites: a carbonaceous material with double carbide, a carbon nanocomposite of enhanced strength using fullerenes and nanotubes. The authors researched indices of the antioxidant system after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 months and 6 months since implantation.
Results. It is shown that there has been revealed no delayed toxic effects after implantation of innovative carbon nanocomposites.
Conclusions. The results obtained are in general well-correlated with the results of researching clinical indices in animal serum after implantation.

Key words
